Yes, we are now accepting payments for friendship because we are famous. We have entered the ring of publicly documented people!...well, almost! ;) My girls and I had been shopping all day with my parents when I decided I needed to make one more stop at Fashion Place Mall before calling it quits. We were on our way to our last store when a woman and a man with a TV camera asked if they could interview us for a story they were preparing for KSL News that night. They were trying to get some opinions of shoppers and their plans for holiday shopping this year. My parents quickly declined stating they'd done it before. My mother had been interviewed for different things a few times and replied they always catch her when she hasn't done her hair or put on any make-up. I had never done it before and thought it would be fun! So, suddenly, all eyes were on me. Realizing I was in the spotlight (never somewhere I like to be by myself) I quickly brushed my hair and grabbed Dorothy as a security blanket. I figured she's so cute no one will even bother to watch me- they'll watch her! The interviewer began to ask me a series of questions about shopping, Christmas, and the economy...the more questions she asked the more I felt like I was just rambling on. After a few minutes they turned the camera light off and thanked me for my help. I was so tuned out to everything else around me I didn't realize that Jackie was very upset and was crying. I went to comfort her while the journalist turned and cornered my mother for an interview. Jackie was very upset. She was under the impression that The TV people were going to take me and Dorothy and put us in the TV. It took a couple passes before I got Jackie to understand what I actually did and that I wasn't leaving her. You'd think that once she understood she would've calmed down and been fine. Nope. Sorry, Jackie doesn't work that way. She then started to cry even more because now she wanted to be on TV. And not just by herself! No, she had terms. She wanted me, Dorothy and her to be on and the same time. She kept pointing at the camera man, making sure he saw and understood what his new job description entailed. Before I could explain that the interview was all done, the news crew came back and asked if they could follow us and film us shopping for a little while....uhh...sure-Okay. Jackie was thrilled and began telling everybody what to do. They had us walk down the corridors twice and then filmed us looking at some games at a kiosk in the middle of the mall. All the while Jackie wouldn't let me put her down and continued to try and direct our actions as we were being filmed. When everything was all said and done they thanked us and told us the story would air that night at 10 o'clock and that we would be their main feature. Main feature?!- crap. I suddenly recalled how goofy I look on film and thought to myself, "What have I done!? I'm going to looked like such a lurp!" So, I was happy when I watched it that night and found they didn't air all of my ramblings- just a small statement. My mother, however, was mortified to find that they aired her more that they originally led on--hehe. Sorry Mom! I downloaded the clip for your personal enjoyment, so you may bask in our twinkling debut over and over again!

can we get a discount on friendship since we knew you before? Got any annual deals or anything?
You know you can't charge family members, right? In fact, we should charge you for letting you use our name! ;-)
